SYNOPSIS
You are in your twenties and your life is a supermarket of innumerable possibilities, you only have to reach out your hand for picking one. It is said. But a rainy night you can not stop your car and crash into the one of two plain-clothes policemen. Everything will change. Or you can stop. Then everything will go on as if nothing happened. But in both cases something won't stop digging in, telling you that you have chosen nothing about your life. And you are tired of waiting.
THE DIRECTOR: ALESSANDRO ARONADIO
Born in Rome in 1975, he graduated in Psychology at the University of Palermo. Winner of a scholarship, he attended and graduated in film directing at the Los Angeles Film School. Also a writer, he won the competition “Trasgressori” in 2000 with Billie Holiday and the script La neve, piano (2005) won the second prize at “Autori da scoprire” in Bolzano. As a photographer, he won an international competition in 2001. Assistant in several films both in Italy (with Besson, Tornatore, Martone, etc...) and the USA, he directed commercials, clips, documentaries and shorts. Among his works, in competition at several festivals, Il bianco e il rosso, Eyes Wide Open, Hollywood Stories, Lost D. (winner of the Ultracorti Film Festival), The story of Adam & Eve (winner of the Alternative Film Festival 2002), Roman Holiday (2008). The short Glorybox (2003) won several prizes and it is on permanent exhibition at the Audis Husar Fine Art Gallery in Beverly Hills. He directs commercials and works as a screenwriter. One life, maybe two is his first feature.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
One life, maybe two arises from the time we live in, depicting that precariousness which now increasingly involves every aspect of our existence. (…) On our eyes the pictures of the death of the protester Carlo Giuliani, of the football fan Gabriele Sandri, or of the policeman Filippo Raciti are still impressed like scars. All killings which tragically marked the recent history of our country, and which, in subsequent reconstructions, were traced back to a fit of anger and madness, to fatal moments of mind blackout, to a tragic coincidence.
One life, maybe two is just that: an appointment with fate (…). Matteo represents his own generation adrift without a point of reference, without models, without parents, without teachers, good or bad. No light to show the way. You fumble in the dark…
