SYNOPSIS
Gepy Fuxas is the popular tv presenter of the show “Italian Terrace”, where the public is regaled with a piece of the innumerable events of life, all discussed in a superficial way. In one of these episodes, a paraplegic young girl from the audience, Arianna, begins to provoke him. The result of this attack will be catastrophic for Gepy’s life: the day after, the tv network president decides to cancel the show and he is dismissed. Immediately he finds himself alone and friendless. One evening in a restaurant, he meets Antonazzi, another former tv star, that has recycled himself in a minor local network. Antonazzi makes him a common, but profitable job offer. Fuxas reserves his decision. At the same time, Fuxas meets Arianna again and she invites him for dinner at her house…
CRITICAL NOTE
“ (…) As usual in Verdone’s films we can find fun, melancholy, a slight note of wickedness, a natural sense of the world comedy, that often emerges from the smallest things and the most predictable ways. The pas de deux between the tones of the comedy and the serious, dramatic and highly topical disability subject is married with courage and, above all, it shows how the old boy of Fun is beautiful is still looking for a definite direction, a balance between the romantic situation comedies and the social and moral portrait of our Country.” (Giovanna Grassi, Il Corriere della Sera)
