SYNOPSIS
35-year-old Federica invites her former schoolmates in her lover’s villa at the seaside fifteen years after they graduated from high school. During the reunion, from the afternoon until the following dawn, the illusions, the neurosis and the failures of a problematic generation are pointed out in a discouraging way.
CRITICAL NOTE
“Then it was not a false expectation (vanity as a reporter… ) when, after Me and my sister, Carlo Verdone was said to have grown up passing over the sketches and turning to more profitable comedy of manners.
Just one year has passed and, indeed, the new film takes a step forward towards the complete achievement of an author who, by mixing comic creativity and sociological glimpses, is gaining a very interesting profile. (…). And what’s more the expressive equilibrium in the description of the twelve hours, from late-afternoon to the following dawn, the former classmates of the title spend together; fifteen years after graduating from high school, they have replied to an invitation by Federica, who was the most beautiful girl in the class, and now is the owner of a stunning villa along the Appian Way. (…)”(Giovanni Grazzini, Il Messaggero)
