SYNOPSIS

The film tells the story of a schizophrenic forty-year-old man, Felice, who lives in a farm, and has the gift of 'feeling' water in the bowels of the earth and help the farmers of the area, suffering from arid land. In this way he comes into conflict with Ninì Cintanidd, the gangster holding the business of water in that area. One day a young Eastern-European girl, Harja, seeks refuge in his farm: she is pregnant and has just escaped from the clutches of his persecutor. It turns out to be  Ninì Cintanidd himself who tells two of his collaborateors, Camardo brothers, to find the girl and his right hand, Tonino, to stop those who are opening the weels to farmers: between Felice and Harja, both lonely and with a difficult past, a tender friendship grows, but they both find out they have good reasons to have doubts about the other...Meanwhile the gangster gets nearer and nearer the farm…

CRITICAL NOTE

"(…)  Well-deserved retrieval, Il rabdomante is an example of auteur poor cinema but accessible. A language, cinematographic and not, simple and straightforward allows it to talk and cherish everybody's heart, stomach and brain. This is witnessed by the applauses of the festival premieres that brought it to the distribution in cinemas (with that good project by Eros Puglielli called The coproducers) acclaimed by public and critics. A love tale, sweet and harsh. Andrea Oswart proves to be really good as well as beautiful…" (Boris Sollazzo)
